Funny puppets! :)
It’s no secret that I’m very excited to see Jeff Dunham this evening so in honour of his fantastic ventriloquism skills I decided to hunt out a few examples of old skool puppetry fun! I hope you enjoy giggling at them as much I as have
This clip of Ray Alan and ‘Lord Charles’ really astounded me, the play on bad ventriloquism is hilarious and for a moment or two you really do forget it’s Ray doing all the talking!! I can understand why he’s been given the title of ‘World’s Greatest Ventriloquist’ but it also makes sense why this guy has stuck at the back of my mind in spite of how young I would have been seeing him on tv! Genius!
A google search led me to Dan Horn, and I found myself in stitches in the first minute! Orson’s character is so fully formed and realistic that it’s very hard not to get absorbed into the conversation between himself and Dan and the audience lapped up the comedy in their interactions
Hilarious stuff!
Hehehe, using a human as a ventriloquist dummy is definitely novel and Paul Zerdin does a very funny job in this clip. I’ve seen Jack Wise do something very similar live before and it’s a style of ventriloquism that seems to really grab and audience and make them laugh out loud!
