Gig- Brand Spanking New Returns!
There will be plenty of Galwayites rejoicing when they discover that the Róisín Dubh will once again play host to Brand Spanking New. The show which boasts “Brand Spanking New talent & new material from Ireland’s best comedians” is hosted by Danny Dowling (TV3′s Come Dine With Me) and the line up for Wednesday 21st is a cracker! Headlining the show is Cork native Chris Kent, currently being described as the Future of Irish Comedy. Chris has returned to the Roisin Dubh with a very full year of gigs in 2012. From Kilkenny to America to the UK and Edinburgh, Chris has raked up an impressive line up of gigs festivals and TV appearances. Eric is one of the Ireland’s best comedians, in 2011 he was voted “comedian of the year” by the readers of entertainment.ie, He is a regular fixture at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs and all other irish festivals and to boot, he’s unbelievably sound.Support on the night comes from Washington native, Jim Elliott. Jim is a regular performer in both the Laughter Lounge and the international comedy club, where he regularly drops serious comedy bombs.
Also Joining us on the night is the fabulous Al Porter.

Admission is €7, and that includes a free beer to help lubricate your laughing muscles, and other than that, its BYOB, so you can lurk in the corner with a 6 pack of dutch while you have a laugh.
Gig – Horrifical Comedy Night @ Trinity College
Do people tell you your sense of humour is a little odd? Are you one of those folks who enjoys a laugh at things most people find terrifying? Well perhaps this is the gig for you…
To raise money for arguably the most “horror-comedy-musical-esque” of all the Players Freshers Fest Shows, Horrifical will be taking over the Pav, and with a little help from DU Comedy Soc, will be putting on a horror themed Comedy Night.
The Night will be MC’d by Horrifical director Valerie “The Crypt-Keeper” Lynch.

Last Sunday Marcus O’Laoire opened for Australian comedian Jim Jefferies at Vicar Street. This was indeed a great honour for Marucs!

Capital Comedy Club on AerTV

It’s not everyday that an Irish comedy club gets featured on the tellybox. But that’s just what happened recently at the Capital Comedy Club. Joining resident MC Simon O’Keeffe on the night were Aidan Greene, Marcus O’Laoire, Kevin Lockard, Edwin Sammon, Donal Vaughan and Cian McGarrigle for a special up and coming comedians show for AerTV. The Capital Comedy Club celebrated its 7th birthday this year and has played host to some of Ireland’s best known comedians.
