10 Days in Dublin – comedy comedy comedy!
Time for the 5th installment of our 10 Days in Dublin comedy break down! You ready for more great acts to choose from? Great, here goes…
Sketch group extraordinaire Foil, Arms and Hog will be taking to the stage on Wed 11th @7.30pm in The Workmans. Excited? We are! These high energy performers are well-know for presenting audiences with “a fast paced mix between theatre and stand-up comedy. Wickedly twisted characters, unpredictable scenes and high energy performances. The lads have appeared on TV as stars of The Savage Eye and at live festivals including Kilkenny Cats laughs, Electric Picnic and Vodafone Comedy Festival.” Gosh, these boys have fantastic credentials to share on the 10days site! Surely that’s enough to convince you to pop along for a night of manic laughter, it’s only €5 too! Not convinced? Hmm, what to do…? I know, how about free tickets?!?! The lads have given us a trio of freebies to give to our lovely comedyscoop readers, so if you want to bring a friend out for a cheap midweek giggle drop us a mail now; competitions@thecomedyscoop.com :)
Do you have an ‘Appetite for Distraction’? It seems George Fox does and he’ll be sharing it with you on Sunday 8th @ 6.30pm in The International Bar! According to 10days “Appetite for Distraction is a look at our lives in modern times and how they’re more interesting and exciting than we could have EVER have imagined in our youth…and yet still capable of being just as petty and childish. With school yard bullying traded for social networking, this show stands on the shores of our society, beating its comedic stick against a sea of mediocrity.” Wow, sounds like there are some interesting ideas in George’s show but fear not he is the Father Ted Fest Comedian of the Year Winner 2012 so it’s all bound to be wrapped in a hilarious package for your enjoyment
And at just €5 it’s a great value evenings entertainment too!
Whoop! It looks like there are 2 opportunities to see the hilarious Jarlath Regan’s show ‘The Audacity Of Hope And The Inspirational Stupidity Of Perseverance’ in The New Theatre on Fri 6th and Sat 7th @6pm. Jarlath is a well-known face around the Dublin comedy scene and even recently appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News! According to the 10days site “Fresh off the back of a whirlwind year he presents a show filled with the kind of honest to goodness “comedy genius” (Irish Times) that has lead Chortle to call his “the perfect tea time show”. If you’re looking for “hilarious change of pace” (Independent) or something to set you up nicely for the night ahead, come and see this man do his critically acclaimed thing.” And with tickets costing just €10 why wouldn’t you pop on in to see Jarlath for yourself?
Another well-known face is up next; Aidan Killian is presenting his show ‘Take the Red Pill’ on Wed 11th and Thurs 12th in The Bad Ass @8pm. 10 days tell us that “This show is original, powerful, spiritual and will open your mind to how the banks and courts are complete frauds as well as leaving you with a happy smile on your face. The show sold out at The Edinburgh Fringe 2011 and NewYork and Leicester Square theatre in London.” So it must be good right? Fork out just €7 and you can see for yourself! Or get typing because we’ve acquired one pair of tickets for each of the 2nights of the show and we want to give them to you! Send us a mail with your details; competitions@thecomedyscoop.com and let us know which night you’d like to see Mr Killian at work!
