So you’ve all heard of Bill Bailey haven’t you? (If you haven’t fear not you can see him in action at the end of this post!) Well I discovered last night that he’s currently in Dublin making the Olympia rock with laughter with his show; Dandelion Mind (gently modified). Now it’s only a brief stay so if you want to experience the musical and comedic magic that Mr Bailey brings to the stage you best get yourself down to the box office this evening before he leaves the country

If last night is anything to go by you won’t be disappointed. After introducing himself, Bill danced his way onto the stage and soon had the crowd in stitches with his intelligent and witty observations of modern society. The night was very interactive with Bill regularly asking the audience questions, generally with very funny results. It was a pleasure to watch Bill lapse into the odd fit off giggles while on stage at some of the audience’s responses; it’s always lovely to see someone who enjoys their work!

Bill is confident and clever in his stand-up but where he excels for me is in his musical comedy. The man is a lyrical genius who can not only play a wide variety of instruments but can turn his hand to an astounding array of musical genres; the audience were completely enraptured by his megamix of well-known hits played on the horns!

Bill Bailey is one of the big names in modern comedy and it’s easy to see why. With his unusual appearance and ability to laugh at himself teamed with an intelligent and imaginative approach to life designed to make a crowd breathless with laughter Bill Bailey is definitely one of those comedians you have to see to believe.
