Plenty more ‘Cats’ in Kilkenny

Yup there’s even more comedians to be seen in Kilkenny this weekend! Here’s a another list of them just to confuse and tempt you! :)

Recently appeared as the conjoined twin of PJ Gallagher in ‘Meet Your Neighbours’. This is Gearoid Farrelly’s third appearance at Cat Laughs and he can’t wait for it!
Ian Coppinger returns to the Cat Laughs for an incredible 17th time! He must be sick of us by now. An amazing comic and improviser. Welcome back Copps!
After a six year absence from stand-up, one of Britain’s finest comedians, Jack Dee, is back, agonizing over the slightest of annoyances and misdemeanors. Why is he touring again? ‘I want to spend less time with my family’ says Jack. We are thrilled he is making his Cat Laughs debut. Two shows only. It’ll be a real treat.

In less than six years in comedy Jarlath Regan has performed at every major comedy festival in the world, been called a “comedy genius” by the Irish Times, published two books and won a legion of fans including Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler. He also single-handedly reintroduced the high-five to the world. But we won’t hold that against him.
Jason Byrne has sold more tickets at the Edinburgh fringe (nearly 200,000) than he’s recorded BBC radio series (4). He’s recorded more BBC radio series (I told you, 4) than he’s won Sony gold awards (1). This is also the amount of times he’s used statistical comparisions to convey information.
Weaving a comedic web of observation about everything from fatherhood to his one armed chemistry teacher and with his 8 legs and hilarious hairy body Joe Rooney is both metaphorically and literally a comedy spider. Known as Father Damo from Father Ted and Timmy from Killinascully he is in fact Joe Rooney.
Star of BBC1’s Live At The Apollo, Channel 4’s Stand Up For The Week and 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer 2011 nominee, Chortle Best Breakthrough Act nominee 2011, FHM Stand-Up Hero 2010 Josh Widdicombe makes his Cat Laughs debut. Josh provides an hilarious insight into the daily foibles of one of comedy’s fastest rising stars with observations and dilemmas we can all relate to.
Karl is best known in Ireland for his TV series Karl Spain Wants A Woman which was a huge success in that he not only got huge ratings but he also found himself a woman. In 2009 he filmed Karl Spain Wants to Rock but did not get a woman from that show. He has also performed stand up on television all over the world – the U.S, the Middle East, Australia and even as far away as England. He regularly does corporate gigs and spends all his money on sweets and comics. He has performed at every Kilkenny Cat Laughs festival since 2002.

If any of these guys take your fancy then hop on over to www.thecatlaughs.com (again!) to check out the gigs they’ll be playing. If you’re still not sold yet (seriously you’re a fussy one!) fear not there’s plenty more comedians to choose from….

to be continued…
